Job Description Job Description Forest Technician – Falconer, New YorkOur Falconer, NY forestry team seeks a highly motivated, Full Time Forestry Technician to join our progressive,growing team. The ideal candidate would be located within 30 miles of Falconer, NY. A two-year or four-yeardegree in Forestry or closely related field is required, or applicants must have 2+ years of practical fieldforestry/timber procurement experience.Interviewing/ Hiring timeline: OpenPrincipal Duties Include: Timber inventory (cruising) Timber sale preparation (timber marking) Forest data collection, including GPS and photographic information Other duties related to forest management for our long-term clientsPrincipal Requirements include: An Associate's (or higher) degree in Forestry, Forest Technology, or Environmental Biology, or 2 yearsminimum of practical field forestry experience is required. Individuals with a B.S. degree in Forest Science/Forest Management, Natural Resources, or EnvironmentalSciences are strongly encouraged to apply. Must be competent in tree species identification, and with forest mensuration techniques, including pointsampling, plot sampling, and 100% inventory methods. Basic knowledge of common computer/office software Self-motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability and willingness to work out of town as assigned for 1-2 week time periods.Job Type: Full-timeStarting Compensation: $18.00 – $19.00 per hour, depending on experience; paid over-timeBenefits: 401(k) matching, health insurance, life insurance, paid time off, professional developmentassistance, vision insuranceA “Task and Duty Guide” for this position is available upon request.
