Your work will directly influence employee well‑being, financial outcomes, and long‑term client success.With the appropriate qualifications, candidates may be considered as a Safety Management Consultant or a Loss Control Consultant II. This position delivers efficient, effective safety consulting services to clients in alignment with departmental and company policies and procedures. The role is fully remote and requires regular travel to policyholder locations throughout central Maine. Experience within the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and assess risk: Conduct on‑site and virtual evaluations of workers' compensation loss exposures by reviewing operations, safety programs, and organizational culture for prospective, new, and existing policyholders across a variety of industries.Serve as a trusted advisor: Build strong partnerships with clients and internal teams to recommend and implement effective loss control strategies that reduce injuries and control costs.Drive results through strategy: Develop actionable safety plans that align with client business goals, support retention, and contribute to new business growth.Leverage data and insights: Use analytical tools and loss data to identify trends and create targeted, high‑impact loss control strategies.Deliver impactful education: Design and present safety strategies, technical guidance, and training to both technical and non‑technical audiences at all organizational levels.Collaborate and innovate: Partner with Safety Management Consultants and cross‑functional teams on special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.Travel with purpose: Conduct field visits throughout your assigned territory (primarily by car, with occasional air travel), while also leveraging technology to deliver effective remote consultations when appropriate.What You BringA bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering, Risk Management, a STEM‑related field, or equivalent education and experience preferred.At least three years of field loss control consulting experience in the insurance industry or comparable safety experience in a general industry setting.A forward‑thinking, consultative mindset with the ability to influence outcomes and drive performance across all levels of an organization.Strong business acumen and initiative, with a collaborative approach to solving complex safety challenges.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.A valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively within the territory.Willingness to obtain professional designations and credentials such as ARM, ASP, CSP, WCP, or a master's degree in a relevant specialty (strongly encouraged).Why This Role MattersYou'll have the autonomy of a remote position, the variety of on‑site client engagement, and the satisfaction of helping organizations create safer, healthier workplaces.
