    A bit about us:

We're looking for an attorney with significant litigation experience to step into a role that involves owning a full caseload from the earliest stage through conclusion. The attorney in this position will steer all aspects of their matters, including evaluating the facts, shaping strategy, anticipating risk, managing discovery, and preparing files for hearings, mediations, and trial. The work centers on defending insureds in a range of contested matters-such as property disputes, injury claims, and other litigation-while also handling select cases directly involving the company's own interests, including motorist-related claims and other assignments that may arise.

This role can be performed remotely, in a hybrid setup, or fully onsite. The caseload is primarily concentrated in western Missouri, and the attorney will be expected to work with a high degree of independence while also serving as a resource to colleagues and Claims personnel who need legal insight or guidance.

    Why join us?
    • Great in-house team
    • Growing but well established organization
    • 401(k) AND pension plan
    • Bonus program

    • Breaking down liability and damages issues, outlining available defenses, suggesting case strategy, and offering value assessments when needed.
    • Handling all court-related appearances and proceedings, as well as participating in mediations and settlement efforts.
    • Keeping clients and Claims staff informed of case movement and significant developments.
    • Providing written and verbal legal analysis on claims-related questions.
    • Negotiating resolutions with opposing counsel or outside parties.
