Candidates must be a United States Citizen or Green Card Holder. Candidates must be able to work out of our client's Houston, TX office. There is no option for a fully remote work schedule. Travel is required (estimated travel percentage 20%)

    We are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer with ten or more years of experience in consulting engineering and project management for our client's office in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player looking for a challenging and rewarding opportunity within a dynamic and progressive firm.

    The right candidate will have work history that includes performing consulting services for external and internal clients utilizing fire protection engineering technical skills, with extensive experience delivering comprehensive fire and life safety consulting services across a wide range of building types and occupancies. Experience should include both system design and providing building and life safety code consulting services. Demonstrated ability to support both new construction and existing facilities, providing practical, code‑compliant, and constructible solutions that balance life safety, project goals, and operational needs. Proven track record of working collaboratively with owners, architects, and multidisciplinary design teams, as well as authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs). Project experience should include a variety of markets such as high-rise, residential, mission-critical, higher-education, assembly, industrial, high-piled storage, and healthcare.

    Qualifications:

    Requirements Include:

    • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in engineering from accredited college or university.
    • Fire Protection Engineering License by examination issued by any state in the United States.
    • Minimum of 10 years working experience in the Fire Protection profession.
    • Travel is required (estimated travel percentage 20%).
    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including oral presentation skills.
    • Ability to work on a high functioning team.

    Duties and Skills:

    • Performing analysis of existing fire protection systems, as well as designing new fire protection systems including suppression systems, fire detection, alarm and mass notification systems.
    • Performing building, fire, and life safety code analysis and interpretation.
    • Managing day-to-day contacts with internal and external clients while utilizing experience and technology to meet expectations.
    • Perform business development and development of proposals and review of resumes and qualifications for pursuits.
    • Possess project management skills for managing internal projects as well as external client needs.
    • Performing research and documenting for internal and external distribution.

    • Provide peer reviews of colleagues' work product.
    • Attend and participate in local and national professional organizations, such as SFPE and NFPA.
