    Job Summary: The Command Center Staff is responsible for the monitoring and coordination of MTTA's transportation services. The position works in a centralized control center using systems, technology, and facilities specifically designed to monitor and control MTTA assets to fulfill the MTTA mission of providing an effective, and reliable transit system.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Monitor revenue services, for on time performance (OTP), schedule adherence, vehicles off route, paratransit trip optimizing, operators logged on, etc.
    2. Communicate with appropriate staff to follow up on service-related issues, identify detour routes, accidents, customer complaints, etc.
    3. Assist operators with unscheduled delays, maintenance problems, and personnel issues.
    4. Assist operators in the performance of daily requirements.
    5. Receive and respond to all radio calls. This includes providing information, assistance, and route problem solutions to operators and supervisors.
    6. Coordinate with internal and external resources and record and monitor all activities involving response and investigation of accidents/incidents.
    7. Responsible for performing duties in accordance with company policies and within the boundaries of the labor contract.
    8. Assist with responding to Elerts as necessary.
    9. Must be willing to work various shifts including evenings and weekends.
    10. Communicate with other departments such as Maintenance, Safety or Road Supervisors in support of service needs.
    11. Serves as a back up to the dispatch or operators as needed or directed. Assists when there is a manpower shortage driving revenue vehicles.
    12. Must be able to drive all revenue vehicles.
    13. Assist other departments with extra activities requiring operations personnel or assistance.
    14. Maintain knowledge of safe work practices, including reporting unsafe conditions.
    15. Must report to work on a regular and timely basis.
    16. Perform other incidental duties as may be assigned.

    Requirements:

    License - Must be licensed in the state of Oklahoma and be 18 years of age. Must hold an Oklahoma CDL A or B Driver's License with air brakes and passenger endorsement. Must have good driving record, Pass DOT physical, and additional MTTA requirements. Must have received no moving violations within the last 3 years and have no DUI/DWI convictions.

    Knowledge The Command Center Staff requires a working knowledge of the operational functions necessary to meet the service requirements of a transit system. The ability to interpret and apply collective bargaining terms and agreements is essential. Knowledge of dispatching or the operation of a service-oriented transportation system is essential. The incumbent must be familiar with the geographical areas served. The ability to manage the application of current and evolving information technology to the workload is also required. Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and office software. Must have good working knowledge and understanding of company policies, and work rules. Must be able to understand and work under union contract. Must be flexible & dependable. Excellent attendance required.

    Mental Effort - Must have ability to communicate effectively with driver work force and the public. Individual must have capacity to deal with more than one problem at a time and deal calmly with the public under stressful situations.

    Physical Must be able to successfully pass DOT physical and additional MTTA requirements. Must be able to sit for long periods. When required must withstand uncomfortable weather conditions, bend, squat, and kneel with no restrictions and no impairment in the movement of the head or eyes.

    Audible/Visual Demands - Requires ability to hear telephone/radio and directions given; visually perform essential functions for satisfactory job performance. Ability to view visual display terminal for extended periods.

    Miscellaneous - Must be willing to work varied shifts and days as assigned. Must be safety conscious and avoid accidents if possible.
