Security Officer - DCMC - All Shifts - Full Time & Part Time

To provide personal and asset protection for patients, visitors and employees throughout the Medical Center facility, and to prevent any potential hazardous conditions through continuous monitoring of all areas.

Responsibilities include:

• Maintaining personal and asset security through hazard surveillance rounds.
• Ensuring compliance with Maryland Department of State Police licensing requirements.
• Monitoring CCTV and maintaining logs and correspondence.
• Responding to emergency calls and managing crisis situations.
• Conducting investigations into thefts and other complaints.
• Preparing and submitting reports and logs.
• Conducting personal safety screenings.
• Participating in crisis intervention.
• Providing staff education and training.
• Performing regular patrols and inspections.
• Maintaining accountability for valuables and evidence.
• Assisting with keys, contractor badges, and traffic control.
• Providing safety escorts and support.
• Contributing to department goals and adhering to policies.
• Performing fire drills.
• Working collaboratively and demonstrating exceptional customer service.

Requirements include:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of healthcare safety and security experience preferred.
• Pass a criminal records background check.
• Possess strong verbal, interpersonal communication skills.
• Complete Conflict Management training.
• Possess a valid Maryland driver's license.
• Obtain State of Maryland Guard Card.
• BLS/CPR Certification preferred.

Physical Demands Heavy: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
