    About the Role

    Working within the Global Engagements and Initiatives Unit, the Program Fellow - Defense and National Security will be based in Washington, D.C. and support the Senior Director for National Security. The Fellow will assist with research, concept development, contact outreach, program invitation, and event execution and follow-up for activities related to the four key pillars of the Defense and National Security portfolio:

    • defense procurement and acquisition;
    • innovation;
    • technology release and export licensing;
    • regional defense and security issues.

    The fellow will have regular interaction with industry executives, U.S. Government officials, and allied and partner nation defense and security leaders. The fellow will support activities and customized individual services for members, prospect companies, and BCIU defense and national security partners. This is an entry level, contracted position. After the one-year fellowship, the hired fellow may be considered for a full-time role with benefits.

    • Outstanding organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task while documenting progress.
    • Strong writing skills (memos, letters, proposals, grants, etc.) and skilled in Microsoft Office and CRM/database systems.
    • Ability to synthesize information and distill complex ideas into an easily relatable description.
    • Creative thinker who can produce independent ideas for team consideration.
    • Market and web/database research capabilities.
    • Interest in defense and national security topics and the defense industrial base.
