    Job Description Job Description Salary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Systems Design Lead to lead our systems design and engineering team in the marine industry. In this critical role, you will be the technical authority for all vessel systems, ensuring their efficient and safe operation from design and construction through to maintenance and repair. You will oversee all engineering activities, manage a team of engineering professionals, and be responsible for the vessel's technical integrity and compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.*All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and there is no relocation included.Key Responsibilities:Systems Engineering: Oversee the design, engineering, operation and maintenance of all shipboard machinery, including propulsion, power generation, electrical, and auxiliary systems.Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of engineers and technical personnel. You will be responsible for assigning tasks, providing guidance, and ensuring the professional development of your team.Maintenance & Repair: Plan, direct, and execute maintenance and repair schedules. You will also oversee and inspect work performed by shoreside contractors to ensure it meets specifications.Compliance & Safety: Ensure all engineering department activities adhere to international maritime regulations, company policies, and safety protocols. You will be responsible for preparing the vessel systems for inspections and audits as required.Inventory & Budget: Manage the inventory of spare parts, fuel, lubricants, and other consumables. You will also be responsible for developing and managing the departmental budget.Communication: Act as the primary technical liaison between the systems engineering department and company leadership.Qualifications:Experience: A minimum of 5-7 years of professional marine engineering experience with a significant amount of time spent in a leadership role.Knowledge: Deep understanding of the operation, maintenance, and repair of shipboard machinery and engineering systems. Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety management systems is essential.Skills: Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ability to work under pressure and manage a diverse team in a dynamic environment is critical.Physical: Willingness to work long hours and be on call 24/7 as needed, and the physical ability to work in a maritime environment.
