Overview
The position exists to provide clerical and client support services for the WIC Program under the general supervision of the Public Health Manager. The employee conducts client screenings to verify income, identification, and nutritional eligibility for the Texas WIC Program and performs anthropometric measurements as needed.
Responsibilities
- Screens participants for eligibility for the WIC program by collecting and reviewing residency and income requirements
- Compares client‑provided documents to WIC policies to ensure compliance
- Enters all required information electronically into the client's TXIN account
- Takes client height and weight and records measurements in TXIN
- Performs hemoglobin testing when required and documents results in TXIN
- Performs data entry by entering all necessary data gathered from client into TXIN platform including nutrition class information
- Iss ues benefits, and schedules appointments
- Provides professional internal and external customer service to all clients and staff
- Assists with answering phones, routing calls, and scheduling appointments
- Greets clients, HD staff, and all individuals entering the WIC building
- Supports daily front office operations and assists with additional tasks as assigned
Position Type and Typical Hours of Work
- Non- Exempt - Full-Time - Grant Funded
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is a schedule requirement
- In the event of an emergency, employees are required to work to provide for the safety and well-being of the public, including the delivery and restoration of vital services.

Basis of Rating
