    Position: Family Law Paralegal

    Location: West Fort Worth

    Type: fully onsite

    Workload and Billables:

    Billable Requirements: only 65 hours per month or 780 per year

    Work Hours: 8am - 5pm

    Software:

    Skilled at quickly absorbing and applying new software and technology solutions to support the evolving pace and complexity of today s legal environment.

    Helpful if you have experience with Centerbase and NetDocs

    Compensation and Benefits:

    Salary ranges from $65000 - $85,000 DOE

    Annual Bonuses

    Full medical, dental, vision, 401K contributions, holidays including a full week between Dec 24th - Jan 1st, PTO, and more

    Parking paid for by law firm

    Job Requirements:

    Undergraduate degree preferred but not required

    Paralegal certificate or certification preferred but not required

    5+ years of Texas Family Law experience

    Solid understanding of the Texas Family Code and the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure

    Exceptional verbal and written communications skills, with superior attention to detail

    Excellent prioritization, problem solving and time management skills

    Ability to learn and utilize new software, technology and techniques as needed to meet the changing demands of the legal marketplace

    Creativity, flexibility, and adaptability in a fast-paced work environment

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and court orders for review, approval, and use by attorney.

    Correspond with clients and prepare spreadsheets and documents for Inventory and Appraisement and Proposed Support Decision.

    File pleadings with court clerks.

    Coordinate delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.

    Conduct intake calls with potential new clients and prepare attorneys for initial consultation.

    Assist attorneys in preparing for mediations, depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences.

    Assist attorneys in analyzing and resolving recurring problems that arise in family law cases.

    Draft discovery requests, calendar relevant due dates, and prepare correspondence to opposing counsels and/or opposing parties.

    Assist clients to comply with discovery requests and compile requested documents.

    The Paralegal will work closely with a Fort Worth Associate to support the firm's clients in a manner that is consistent with our core values and vision. The right candidate must have 5+ years of Texas Family Law experience along with attention to detail, strong organizational and drafting skills, and the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
