    OM 614: Business Forecasting
    • Position: Instructional Faculty, Summer Session - State Support
    • Semester: Summer 2026
    • Day/Time: Mondays and Wednesdays, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
    • Modality: In-person

    The Department of Operations Management and Supply Chain at California State University San Marcos seeks a part-time lecturer for Summer 2026 to teach OM 614: Business Forecasting.

    Course Description

    This course covers methods used to predict the uncertain nature of business trends in an effort to help managers make better decisions and plans. Study and manipulation of historical data in the search for patterns that can be effectively extrapolated to produce forecast. Includes exploring data patterns, moving averages and smoothing methods, regression with time series data, ARIMA methodology, and judgmental forecasting and forecast adjustment.

    Minimum qualifications:
    • A master's degree in the area of instruction, or a closely related field
    • Per the California State University’s Out-of-State Employment Policy, the CSU is prohibited from hiring employees to perform CSU-related work outside California. Working in the State of California is a condition of employment.

    Preferred qualifications:
    • Teaching Experience in Business Analytics areas
    • Ability to communicate effectively with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community
    • Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate intercultural competence and a commitment to serving our campus community as it relates to teaching and, as applicable, service.

    Salary commensurate with degree level and experience
    • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $2,000 - $2,650 per Weighted Teaching Unit (WTU)
    • CSU Classification Salary Range: $1,101 - $6,084 per Weighted Teaching Unit (WTU)
