The City of Westminster is recruiting for a part-time Crossing Guard to join our team!
Crossing Guards direct children going to and from school in crossing streets at assigned street corners during designated hours; maintain discipline among school children when they are approaching a street intersection or crossing the street; determine the safest possible time to cross street; and stops and starts traffic to permit the crossing of school children at a street intersection.
This is a part-time position with a morning and afternoon shift, with hours between 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., and 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Education and Experience: Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be: Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance. Equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED is desirable.
Must possess mobility to work in the field; strength, stamina, and mobility to perform light physical work; hearing and speech to communicate in person. The job involves frequent walking and standing in operational areas. Employees must possess the ability to carry objects up to 5 pounds. Employees work in the field and are exposed to loud noise levels, cold and hot temperatures, inclement weather conditions, and road hazards. Employees may interact with upset staff and/or public and private representatives in interpreting and enforcing departmental policies and procedures. Part-Time Employees participate in the Public Agency Retirement Services (PARS) in lieu of Social Security. Employees contribute 6.0% of their salary toward the plan and the City contributes 1.5% of salary as well. Part-Time Employees are entitled to Paid Sick Leave in accordance with the Division of Labor Standards Enforcement "Healthy Workplaces/Healthy Families Act of 2014 Paid Sick Leave".
