    FUNCTION:

    Responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Security department on the assigned shift. This includes managing Security Supervisors and Security Officers, providing them with effective leadership and guidance throughout the shift.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Act as a representative of the department and property, interacting with guests and employees in a courteous, professional manner.

    1. Assign security staff to various locations according to job requirements and business levels.
    2. Communicate with officers prior to the beginning of the shift to announce pertinent information from previous shifts, upcoming special events, and job-related information.
    3. Ensure security officers adhere to uniform dress and grooming standards consistent with department and company standards.
    4. Regularly provide backup to security officers on assigned shift.
    5. Frequently patrol the property to identify potential security and/or safety hazards.
    6. Observe in performance of duties to evaluate efficiency and to detect and correct inefficient work practices.
    7. Develop department members' knowledge and skills through education, training, coaching, corrective counseling, etc.
    8. Coordinate emergency situations.
    9. Act as a liaison with the appropriate outside agencies during security incidents
    10. Review all reports compiled on the shift for factual, readable, thorough, and timely information and ensure follow-ups for reports needing further investigation.
    11. Communicate regularly with the Security Director about changes, observations and recommendations concerning Security Department operations.
    12. Actively participate in the Nugget Safety Committee. Assist in establishing and implementing effective emergency procedures in the event of fire, bomb threats, power outages, and evacuation measures.
    13. Transport and safeguard company assets as necessary.
    14. Using the Nugget's system of recognition, recognize team members who are going "above and beyond."
    15. Knowledgeable of and consistently follow Nugget policies and procedures as well as appropriate local, state, and federal regulations.
    16. Perform work in a safe manner and always maintain a safe environment for fellow team members and guests alike.
    17. Immediately report unsafe conditions, team member or guest incidents to Security, Management, and the Safety Manager.
    18. Always maintain a positive and professional image for the Nugget when performing duties or representing the Nugget and encourages others to do the same.
    19. Regular predictable attendance is required.
    20. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Security Director

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be at least 21 years of age.

    EDUCATION LEVEL:

    High School diploma or equivalent is required.

    LANGUAGE:

    Effectively communicate with others both verbally and in written form using the English language.

    EXPERIENCE:

    Minimum of 2 years Supervisory or Management experience in Security, Loss Prevention, Law Enforcement and/or related hotel casino required.

    SPECIAL SKILLS:

    Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Ability to walk, stand, or sit for long periods of time.

    Ability to lift, and move product up to 50 lbs.

    Fine finger manipulation.

    Work environment may include smoke and variable temperature, lighting, and noise levels.

    Work may be performed indoors and outdoors during special events.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

    Alcohol Awareness Certification is required.

    Valid Nevada Driver's license and clean 3-year DMV record required.

    Employee Gaming registration required.
