Jackhammering and sawing cutting all types of pavement, concrete, and other materials Laying hot/cold asphalt Loading and unloading trucks Cleaning and restocking crew trucks, and Cleaning their tools and equipment Tool maintenance Using measuring instruments for a variety of applications Other related duties in assisting maintenance crews Flagging traffic Setting up traffic control (e.g., distributing cones, barrels, lights, etc) Reading, typing, and sending emails Using phones, cellphones, vehicle communication equipment Interacting in a professional manner with the public and GCWW employees Other duties, as assigned HOURS: 30-40 hours per week, Regular shift may include weekend days, paid at straight time. Enrolled in City Retirement System, no benefits.

Duties require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting, standing, and walking for prolonged periods of time; heavy and very heavy lifting and carrying. Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and work at heights up to 200 feet. Must be able to pass a respirator physical and respirator fit test. Must be physically fit, able to do "heavy" to "very heavy" physical work: "heavy work" means exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. "very heavy work" means exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
