    Summary of Position

    The Dispatcher supports the Production Team by dispatching Truck Drivers (CDL and Non-CDL), for conveyance of materials in a safe manner, ensuring emails and phone calls are handled in a timely manner. The Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring goods are moved quickly and efficiently by coordinating the drivers make the best use of route time.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    1. Maintains the day-to-day operations of the transportation team including meeting Production Team Member and customer needs.
    2. Reads and responds to emails from stores, customers, and others, providing excellent customer service.
    3. Dispatches Drivers in a safe and efficient manner.
    4. Determines types or amounts of equipment, vehicles, materials, or personnel required according to work orders or specifications.
    5. Records and maintains files and records of customer requests, work or services performed, charges, expenses, inventory, and other dispatch information.
    6. Communicates power equipment defects to Maintenance.
    7. Coordinates with the Purchasing Coordinator to order supplies and equipment, issuing them to the team as needed.
    8. Provides feedback to the Production Management team on day-to-day operations in an effort to maintain and improve business and resolve problems.
    9. Maintains regular and consistent in-person attendance.
    10. Models Ohio Valley Goodwill's Fundamentals.
    11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Required Skills & Qualifications
    • High School diploma, GED or equivalent work experience required
    • One year of customer service experience or dispatch experience required
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
    • Proficient in MS Office Suite
    • Ability to speak and read English proficiently
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen, where applicable for position
    Physical Requirements
    • Ability to work in climate-controlled and non-climate-controlled environments
    • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and lift
    • Ability to type, use a telephone, and perform frequent computer-based work
    • Regular, predictable attendance is required
    Working Conditions
    • Primary Environment: office based in a warehouse environment
    • Moderate noise levels typical of a warehouse environment
    • Driving may be required
