    Position Description

    Job Summary:

    The Traffic Control Laborer is responsible for assisting the Traffic Control Supervisor in all aspects of the Traffic Control Crew duties. The Traffic Control Laborer will load trucks with necessary equipment for the day ahead; including but not limited to, message boards, arrow boards, traffic signs and traffic cones. The Laborer will assist in setting upequipment at designated projects to ensure safety of Summers-Taylor's crew and the public.

    This is a temporary seasonal position, with an anticipated end date in the fall, depending on weather and workload.

    Job Duties:

    • Assists in setting up traffic control signs, boards, and cones under the supervision of TCS.

    • Will load and unload the company truck with necessary equipment for daily projects.

    • Walks and sets up traffic control equipment in a variety of different settings.

    • Will flag traffic when required by supervisor.

    Position Requirements

    Job Requirements:

    • Ability to meet physical demands of the job including standing and walking for long periods of time.

    • Must be able to lift and carry up 50lbs throughout the entire shift.

    • Must be able to work weekends, night shift, and overtime when asked.

    • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to commute to job sites.

    • Must pass drug screen and physical.

    • Must comply with criminal background check.

    • Understands end of season layoffs is highly likely.
