    About the Opportunity:
    Our client, a global high-technology organization is seeking a senior regulatory and government affairs attorney to support its expanding satellite and telecommunications business. This highly visible role will focus on U.S. regulatory strategy and FCC-related matters while partnering closely with executive leadership, technical teams, and external stakeholders across a rapidly evolving industry landscape.

    This individual will play a key role in managing satellite licensing and spectrum-related matters, developing regulatory positions, and supporting strategic initiatives tied to next-generation connectivity solutions. The environment is highly collaborative, fast paced, and entrepreneurial, offering the opportunity to take ownership of impactful work while growing into broader international and strategic responsibilities over time.

    The ideal candidate brings deep FCC and satellite regulatory expertise, strong business judgment, and the ability to independently manage complex licensing and regulatory matters in a dynamic environment.

    Salary Range: $199,000 - $371,000 base salary
    Please note this range is an estimate and actual pay may vary based on qualifications and experience.

    Responsibilities:
    • Lead and support U.S. regulatory and government affairs initiatives related to satellite communications and telecommunications policy
    • Prepare, submit, and manage FCC filings, licensing applications, and related regulatory documentation
    • Oversee spectrum management and satellite licensing activities while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements
    • Monitor changes within the domestic telecommunications and satellite regulatory environment and provide strategic guidance to internal stakeholders
    • Help shape advocacy strategies and organizational positions on complex regulatory and policy matters
    • Represent the organization before agencies including the FCC, NTIA, and other regulatory bodies
    • Support international spectrum and satellite regulatory initiatives, conferences, and working groups
    • Provide legal analysis, regulatory interpretation, and compliance support across business operations and strategic initiatives
    • Partner cross-functionally with engineering teams, executives, consultants, and outside counsel on technical and regulatory matters
    • Assist with strategic partnerships, growth initiatives, and emerging regulatory opportunities within the communications industry
    • Independently manage routine and moderately complex licensing matters with limited oversight while contributing to broader regulatory strategy

    Qualifications:
    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active U.S. bar admission required
    • 8+ years of experience in telecommunications regulatory affairs, government affairs, or related legal/regulatory environments
    • Strong experience with FCC licensing, satellite regulatory matters, and spectrum-related filings
    • Demonstrated ability to independently draft and manage FCC applications and regulatory submissions
    • Deep understanding of FCC frameworks, licensing procedures, and telecommunications regulations
    • Experience supporting satellite operators, connectivity providers, or telecommunications organizations strongly preferred
    • Familiarity with international spectrum and satellite organizations such as ITU, CITEL, or WRC activities is a plus
    • Prior law firm or in-house telecommunications regulatory experience preferred
    • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, engineers, and senior business stakeholders
    • Strong communication, analytical, and relationship management skills
    • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to thrive in evolving and fast-moving environments
    • Proven ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and detailed regulatory work
    • High level of professionalism, sound judgment, and ownership mentality
