    About the Role:

    The Security Officer plays a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and property within the assigned premises. This position involves monitoring access points, conducting regular patrols, and responding promptly to any security incidents or emergencies. The Security Officer ensures compliance with all safety protocols and company policies while effectively communicating with team members and external agencies as needed. By utilizing technology and physical vigilance, the officer helps prevent unauthorized access, theft, vandalism, and other security threats. Ultimately, this role contributes to creating a secure atmosphere that supports the smooth operation of the organization and peace of mind for all stakeholders.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Prior experience as a security guard or in a related security role.
    • Basic proficiency with computer systems and wireless communication technology.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs and repetitive motions required for patrol duties.
    • Strong oral communication skills to effectively interact with team members, visitors, and emergency personnel.
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Certification in security training or related professional development courses.
    • Experience with advanced access control systems and surveillance technology.
    • First aid and CPR certification.
    • Familiarity with local laws and regulations related to security and safety.
    • Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
    Responsibilities:
    • Monitor and control access to the facility using access control systems and verify identification of individuals entering the premises.
    • Conduct routine patrols of the property, including climbing stairs and inspecting all areas to detect and deter suspicious activity or safety hazards.
    • Operate wireless communication devices and radios to maintain constant contact with security team members and report incidents promptly.
    • Respond to alarms and emergencies, providing assistance and coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services when necessary.
    • Maintain detailed logs and reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations to ensure accurate record-keeping and accountability.

    Skills:

    The Security Officer utilizes intermediate computer skills daily to operate access control systems and document incidents accurately. Wireless technology and radio communication are essential for maintaining real-time contact with the security team and coordinating responses to incidents. Physical abilities such as climbing stairs and performing repetitive motions enable thorough patrols and inspections of the premises. Oral communication skills are critical for interacting with visitors, employees, and emergency responders clearly and effectively.
