The primary function of the dispatcher and operations support role is to support the area managers in the functions of operations and the ordering and delivery of materials to customers. This individual supports the operations and dispatch teams to promote corporate policies, procedures, and safety.
Duties & responsibilities include providing support for fast, accurate processing of sales orders, setting up job information, confirming and appropriate reports which support sales order processing. Assist department with implementation and training on DQ installation. Processing credit memos on the computer. Assist customers with will call orders. Provide technical assistance to clients and staff. Responsible for front counter, office/dispatch, restroom, and yard/warehouse cleanliness. Responsible for ensuring that trucks are clean. Coordinate all equipment transfers between branches and assist with paperwork associated.
Basic qualifications include a high school diploma required, minimum of 3 years of related work experience, ability to quickly and accurately perform basic math skills, ability to quickly read a road/geographical map and communicate directions, organization skills demonstrated in job performance, demonstrated ability to follow instructions with limited guidance, core competencies: strive to do the right thing by displaying trust and integrity, ability to work independently and on a team, ability to self-manage, show initiative, be proactive, and drive results, and communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing to coworkers and customers.
Physical requirements include being able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 70% of the time, frequently moving about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc., ability to operate basic office machinery, ability to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Required cognitive skills include the ability to problem solve and prioritize tasks, manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects, multitask, receive and analyze information, quickly communicate solutions if problems occur, and demonstrate a high degree of sound judgement and initiative.
