  • Summary

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    1. Support HUSD Vision, Mission and Goals.
    2. Places school crosswalk signs thirty minutes prior to school opening and removes signs not later than thirty minutes after school ends.
    3. Directs actions of children and traffic at designated school access street crossings to ensure student safety as students are going to or leaving school.
    4. May escort children across street at school crosswalks.
    5. Monitors student use of lined crosswalks.
    6. Records license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals and reports infractions to the school principal.
    7. Uses hand held stop sign in association with work assignment.
    8. Due to the potential for access to confidential student information, it is absolutely mandatory that this position safeguard and maintain the confidentiality of the information stored and discussed in the school.
    9. Performs other duties as assigned.
    QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
    1. High School Education preferred.:
    2. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to build positive rapport with students and parents.
    3. Good physical condition with an emphasis on sight and hearing. Exposure to the elements during assignment.
    4. First Aid certification preferred.
    5. Ability to pass background and reference checking as stipulated by District standards.
    6. Valid IVP Fingerprint Card.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    The employee is regularly required to perform the following duties:
    1. Constantly works in outdoor weather conditions with environmental noise.
    2. Constantly moving on streets and sidewalks.
    3. Frequent use of stop sign, it is required to hold and extend arm to alert traffic of students in crosswalk.
    4. Frequent communication with parents, students, and staff to maintain safety.
    5. Raising and lowering of objects from one level up to 25 lbs.
    6. Clarity of vision at close range and long range of 20 feet or more while observing an area that can be seen up and down or to the right or left while eyes are fixed on a given point

    TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-Time Position - 10 months Monday - Friday. 7.5 hours per week

    SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Appropriate salary placement on the Classified Hourly Salary Schedule.

    EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated by Site Administrator and according to District Policy.
