We are searching for a skilled and dedicated physician to join our team and provide temporary coverage for a recently departed radiologist. This locum tenens position offers a varied schedule with weekend and on-call requirements, allowing you to contribute your expertise while maintaining flexibility in your work arrangements. Key Responsibilities: Perform a variety of Interventional Radiology procedures, including thoracentesis, paracentesis, nephrostomy tubes, intra-abdominal abscess drainage, chest tubes, and suprapubic catheters. Conduct CT/US biopsies (thyroid, lung, etc.), barium studies, and lumbar punctures. Interpret stroke CT scans and other acute care imaging studies for emergency department and ICU patients. Collaborate effectively with nurses, technicians, and referring physicians to ensure optimal patient care. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the Cerner electronic medical record system. Qualifications: Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and current California medical license required Board certification in Interventional Radiology (or a related specialty) mandatory Active DEA registration required Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification a must Proven experience performing a variety of IR procedures and interpreting acute care imaging studies Excellent clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and hand-eye coordination Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills About Us: We are a reputable healthcare provider committed to delivering high-quality care to patients in a general acute care hospital setting.
