    We are recruiting for a fellow in our new Global Women‘s Health Fellowship program. This is a two-year fellowship that incorporates clinical, teaching, and research responsibilities at Stony Brook Medicine and Hospital Central de Maputo in Mozambique. The fellow will graduate with an advanced degree in public health and will graduate equipped to run a global health program that focuses on capacity building in women‘s health, clinical education, program development and/or program implementation. The overarching goal of this fellowship is to create OBGYN professionals who are world ready and skilled leaders in Global Women‘s Health on the International stage. Graduates of this program will be experts eligible to apply for leadership positions in academic medicine, public health, international development, and government roles. Candidate must be interested and willing to move to Mozambique for a period of 1 year.

    Required Qualifications:

    Completed Residency in OBGYN in the United States. Committed to advancing health equity for poor and/or marginalized communities.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    Proficient in Spanish or Portuguese.

    Long Island‘s premier academic medical center, Stony Brook Medicine, represents Stony Brook University‘s entire medical enterprise and integrates all of Stony Brook‘s health-related initiatives: education, research and patient care. It encompasses Stony Brook University Hospital, Stony Brook Children‘s Hospital, the five Health Sciences schools -- Dental Medicine, Health Professions, Medicine, Nursing and Social Welfare -- as well as the major centers and institutes, programs and more than 50 community-based healthcare settings throughout Suffolk County. With 624 beds, Stony Brook University Hospital serves as Suffolk County‘s only tertiary care center and Regional Trauma Center. Stony Brook Children‘s, with more than 180 pediatric specialists in 30 specialties, offers the most advanced pediatric specialty care in the region. In the Medical and Research Translation (MART) building, two floors are occupied by Stony Brook University Cancer Center‘s outpatient services, and four floors are devoted to cancer research.
