Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• Graduation from an approved school of nursing.
Licensure:
• Current licensure by the State Board of Nursing in the applicable state of practice.
• Must be a licensed driver.
Certification(s):
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation)
Preferred Qualifications:
Education:
Experience:
• Recent hospice or long-term care experience
• Experience with issues related to death/dying and bereavement.
• One-year general nursing experience preferred.
Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
• Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
• Understands Hospice philosophy; principles related to death and dying and pain management.
• Has excellent observation, good nursing assessment and communication skills.
• Excellent computer skills with the ability to provide good documentation within an electronic medical record and submits in a timely manner.
• Is self-directed with the ability to work with little supervision.
• Flexible and cooperative in fulfilling role obligation and has ability to work within an interdisciplinary team.
Physical Requirements:
• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
