Hospice & Palliative Care Physician Opening - Augusta, Maine 4-Day Work Week 12-Bed Hospice Unit Up to $315K + Loan Repayment A respected integrated healthcare system in Augusta, Maine is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Hospice & Palliative Care Physician to join a compassionate, interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive care for patients with serious and life-limiting illnesses. This is an exceptional opportunity for a physician passionate about patient-centered end-of-life care, symptom management, and interdisciplinary collaboration within a well-supported clinical environment. Position Highlights Monday-Friday schedule with four 10-hour shifts Weekend home call only every 6-8 weeks Dedicated 12-bed hospice unit Inpatient, outpatient, long-term care, home hospice, and telehealth responsibilities Strong interdisciplinary support team Opportunity for teaching, mentorship, and program development Stable, mission-driven healthcare environment Compensation & Benefits Compensation $260,000 - $315,000 salary Additional incentives available Potential recruitment, relocation, and retention bonuses Comprehensive Benefits Package Up to $200,000 in student loan repayment assistance Health, dental, and vision insurance Retirement plan with matching contributions Generous PTO and paid holidays CME support Malpractice coverage included Responsibilities Manage complex symptom control including pain and non-pain symptom management Conduct inpatient and outpatient palliative care consultations Coordinate end-of-life care planning with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, social workers, chaplains, and community partners Mentor and educate fellows, residents, medical students, and staff Participate in quality improvement and program development initiatives Qualifications MD or DO from an accredited medical school Board Eligible or Board Certified in Hospice & Palliative Medicine Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills Experience supporting or participating in medical education and mentorship Preferred Experience Hospice, palliative care, geriatrics, or end-of-life care experience Academic or integrated healthcare system experience Leadership experience in quality improvement or clinical program development Experience with inpatient and outpatient palliative consultations Interest in evidence-based practice improvement and clinical education Why Augusta, Maine?
