    As a crossing guard, you are responsible for assisting children who are crossing busy intersections and streets; instructing children on basic safety procedures related to crossing the street; and the overall safety of children and pedestrians going to and returning from school at an assigned location.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist children crossing busy streets and intersections; assist general public crossing the street as needed.

    • Ensure children cross the street only when it's safe, stopping traffic as necessary.

    • Understand the traffic laws, signs and speed limits posted within a designated area to effectively guide vehicles and people.

    • Ensure that children are aware of proper safety rules and basic safety techniques when crossing the streets.

    • Report any unsafe behavior of students to school officials to reduce the risk of someone getting hurt while crossing or waiting to cross a street.

    • Identify drivers who are speeding or driving carelessly and notify authorities by documenting their license plate number.

    • Attentively watch for impending dangers to develop effective solutions before an accident occurs.

    • Greet the general public courteously; answer questions and provide directions as needed.

    • Remain calm in emergency situations and stay visible to the public during working hours.

    • Assist drivers when necessary and performs other job duties as assigned.

    • Exhibits the highest ethical best practices and personal integrity; Shares concerns about suspicious or inappropriate behavior with their supervisor or manager

    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Requirements:

    • Must be at least 18 years old

    • Familiarity with all road hazards, signs, rules, and regulations

    • Strong verbal communications skills

    • Great attention to detail

    • Ability to work independently and in compliance with Company policies and procedures.
