Your Specific Responsibilities:
Perform engineering review and analysis, develop engineering reports and associated documents (work orders, traffic regulations, signal operating plans, benefit/cost analysis, etc.) This includes field assessments, applying engineering principles and judgement to identify operational safety deficiencies and appropriate remedial action. Coordinator with Department staff affected external agencies and customers as required. Ensure coordination of resources necessary to implement remedial action.
Assist in development and management of professional and contractual services contracts and other types of agreements that support Traffic Operations functions. Includes developing documentation for contract funding, request for proposal (RFP) and related documents, participation on technical review committees (TRC), evaluation of contract work products, consultant evaluation and invoice processing/approval.
Provide review comments on plan submittals generated by the Department and other entities. This includes developing technical comments directed to the design project manager or design engineer of record based on traffic engineering fundamentals, Department design standards and engineering judgement. Includes accepting/rejecting the responses to those comments.
Participate in meetings and presentations with internal and external customers to represent Traffic Operations interest. Provide useful commentary and review of work products, development of correspondence and follow-up contact as needed.
