Prior law enforcement experience as a police officer.
Pass oral interviews, medical exam, polygraph exam, psychological exam, background check-investigation.
Currently certified as a WA State Peace Officer and/or can attend the W.S.C.J.T.C. Law Enforcement Equivalency Academy to obtain proper certification as a WA State Certified Peace Officer.
Provide equal and impartial enforcement of all state, local and other applicable laws and ordinances. Ability to lawfully carry a firearm and meet Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission Peace Officer Standards and Brier Police Department Standards.
Provide service to help the people of Brier to safeguard and protect their lives, property and constitutional rights.
Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.
Assist other public safety agencies as needed and within the operating guidelines of the Brier Police Department.
Performed police duties as scheduled 24/7/365 working in all types of weather conditions.
Arrest violators and issue civil and criminal notices. Which includes writing police reports and testifying in Court as needed.
Promote community policing activities within Brier.
Follow guidelines, policies and procedures to include verbal and written directives by management or the assigned supervisor.
Maintain confidentiality and promote a positive workplace environment.
Investigative all levels of violations and secure evidence and work with the prosecutor's office as needed for legal guidance.
The ability to physically operate a vehicle and detain and/or arrest violators and use a reasonable amount of force as needed for such situations and deadly force as lawfully justified.
Perform general law enforcement public safety duties as assigned by management.
This position requires the physical ability to perform the job duties of a police officer at all times and to provide an acceptable level of public safety services.
