    Title: Officer, School Resource

    Performs specialized tasks involving skilled trade work to patrol school sites and adjacent areas to ensure the safety and security of students, staff, and property. Responds to security alarms and provides assistance as needed. Investigates criminal activities, enforces laws and policies, and supports a safe learning environment by offering support to security personnel. Performs work autonomously with limited supervision as an experienced individual contributor.

    Essential Job Duties
    • Completes routine, non-routine, and sometimes complex tasks in a timely manner, following through on processes from end to end.
    • Patrols school premises, surrounding areas, and adjacent streets to ensure the safety of students and staff, prevent crime, and maintain a secure environment.
    • Investigates incidents, gathers evidence, conducts interviews with victims and suspects, and prepares detailed reports on findings.
    • Responds promptly to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, or unruly behavior, provides crisis management support, and resets alarms as needed.
    • Enforces laws and school policies related to traffic control on campus streets and issues citations for violations when necessary.
    • Conducts K-9 searches for illegal drugs on school property in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies when required.
    • Engages in community outreach by building relationships with students, staff members, parents, and the community police department, and participates in discussions aimed at promoting acceptable behavior among students.
    • Monitors video surveillance systems vigilantly, responds to security alerts effectively, and ensures proper documentation is completed for each incident or investigation.
    • Serves as an instructor for classes on law enforcement topics, including drug and alcohol awareness programs that contribute to student academic achievement.
    • Provides testimony in court cases involving crimes against the school system property or offenses against personnel or students when needed.
    • Applies relevant laws, regulations, and company policies comprehensively in all job functions.
    • Anticipates tasks based on defined processes and timelines.
    • Recommends process improvements as appropriate.
    • Performs additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications
    • Associate's degree in criminal justice or high school diploma or GED equivalent required.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Criminal or Juvenile Justice or related area from an accredited college or university preferred.
    • Minimum three (3) years of military, security, and/or law enforcement experience is required.
    • Georgia Peace Officers Standard and Training PBLE Certification before employment required. Annual Firearms Qualification is required.
