Upon completion of the entry-level exam and Personal History Questionnaire, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Newark Division of Police. Candidates who attain a passing score on both the entry-level exam and the physical abilities test may be placed on the department's eligibility list. Newark Division of Police will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process. National Testing Network (NTN) is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network (NTN) does not replace the Newark Division of Police's responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to Newark Division of Police where the final decisions are made.
Must be 21 years of age and have a valid State of Ohio driver's license. Must be able to pass Civil Service Commission written and physical agility testing. Must reside within, or adjacent to, Licking County as a condition of employment. Problem Solving: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical and legal instructions in mathematical, written, or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
