    Traffic Signal Installer

    This position is responsible for installing and repairing traffic control equipment.

    Job Type: Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

    Pay: Competitive/Hourly

    Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

    • Maintain electrical systems and microprocessor-based controllers including relays, wiring, conflict monitors, signal suspension cables, poles, communication modules, underground conduits, related lighting, and vehicle detectors.
    • Calibration and troubleshoot circuit boards, run diagnostic tests, analyze data of traffic flow and design timing of signal control devices.
    • Review inventory to ensure you have the tools and replacement parts needed.
    • Works independently and with Crews, and reports to administrative management.
    • Works around and communicates with customers and public to maintaining a high level of professionalism
    • Keep company equipment and vehicles well maintained
    • Reports to General Foreperson any issues or concerns

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Must be 18 years of age or older.
    • Must be able to read traffic blueprints and interpret plan set layouts.
    • Ability to direct and oversee Traffic Signal Laborers.
    • Able to operate heavy equipment to install signal items and install power service.
    • Must be able to read, write and comprehend written and verbal instructions/information.

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.

    Pre-Screen:

    • Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

    License & Certifications:

    • Valid Driver's License required.

    Travel Requirements:

    • Must be willing to travel and work away from home

    Physical Requirements:

    • RARE (less than 10%): Sitting, Kneeling, Crawling, Color Vision, Climbing Stairs
    • OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): Stooping, Squatting, Climbing On/Off Truck, Climbing Ladders, Pushing, Reading, Lifting to 50 lbs.
    • FREQUENT (up to 66%): Carrying, Pulling, Balancing, body-twisting, Hearing/Speech Range, Lifting, lifting to 10 lbs., Manual Dexterity, Speaking Clearly, Walking
    • CONTINUOUS (up to 100%): Standing, Sense of Touch, Gripping, Seeing, Reaching, range-of-motion, Depth Perception, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., Climbing
