Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is actively seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas. Successful AIS employees will work under day‑to‑day direction from Y-12 staff and will be responsible for developing, authoring, reviewing, and maintaining technical and administrative procedures that ensure safe and compliant operations at these facilities.ResponsibilitiesDevelop new, revised, or modified technical procedures to enable personnel to perform tasks related to dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection.Comply with Y15‑232, Technical Procedure Process, and use the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool (TPAT).Occasionally develop or revise administrative procedures while complying with Y15‑235, Administrative Management Requirements Process, and using the Administrative Procedure Authoring Tool (APAT).Develop enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex.Prepare and coordinate procedure reviews and resolve comments.Implement hazard controls, capture quality and performance data, and ensure procedures can be performed as written through verification and validation.QualificationsBachelor of Science degree plus 15‑20 years of experience in technical disciplines, and experience writing technical procedures in a commercial or weapons‑complex facility. Alternatively, a technical background with 18 years of experience writing technical procedures in a commercial nuclear or weapons‑complex environment may be considered.Familiarity with regulatory and administrative requirements affecting procedures, and ability to determine the applicable technical requirements by examining DOE Orders and Standards, 60‑101PD, Quality Assurance Program Description, Y60‑015 Integrated Quality Manual, Nuclear Criticality Safety documents, and Hazard Analysis documents.Active DOE Q clearance or ability to obtain one.Special RequirementsPre‑employment drug screening: external applicants selected for this position must successfully complete a post‑offer, pre‑employment drug test.Medical examinations: job‑related pre‑placement medical exams may be required.Clearance requirement: this position may require obtaining and maintaining a DOE clearance.
