Criminal Investigator 1/K9 Handler - Southwest Region - Lee SPThis is a Canine Handler position in the Southwest Region and is based out of Lee State Prison in Leesburg, Georgia. The selected applicant must reside 50 miles or less from the prison.Preferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university. Basic Law Enforcement Certification with one-year experience in handling or training working canines in the law enforcement field. One year of experience caring for dogs and training dogs to perform such functions as detecting controlled substances, attacking, or tracking in a correctional, military, law enforcement, or other setting in which an applicant would have acquired comparable experience in caring for and training dogs. Completion of Basic Correctional Officer Training (BCOT) Certification.
