Position Summary

The Overnight Security Guard plays a critical role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This position is responsible for monitoring the community during overnight hours, responding to incidents, controlling access to the property, and assisting with front desk operations as needed.

The ideal candidate is professional, observant, dependable, and committed to providing excellent customer service while ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe and secure environment for residents, visitors, and staff
• Patrol buildings, grounds, and perimeter areas regularly throughout the shift
• Monitor security systems, surveillance cameras, alarms, and emergency equipment
• Observe and report suspicious activities, safety concerns, and unusual incidents
• Prepare accurate written reports and incident documentation
• Control access to the community, including building entrances and vehicle gates
• Respond promptly and professionally to emergency situations, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, resident safety concerns, and other urgent incidents. Assess the situation, take appropriate action according to community policies and procedures, coordinate with emergency responders when necessary, and ensure accurate documentation of all incidents.
• Answer telephones, direct calls, and relay messages as needed
• Maintain resident emergency information, visitor logs, sign-in/sign-out records, and other required documentation
• Provide excellent customer service while creating a welcoming and professional atmosphere
• Assist with carpet cleaning and other assigned light housekeeping tasks in common areas
• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Previous security, customer service, or senior living experience preferred
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Strong observation, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Professional demeanor with a commitment to integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours
