    Position Summary:

    The successful Narrator is friendly, upbeat, provides excellent customer service, enjoys interacting with people from all over the world, and can learn a "narration script" that includes accurate historical information.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Learn the historical information for the narration and prepare your own "verbalization" of the tour of the port. (Narrators are provided with all the necessary historical information and on-site paid training.)
    • Deliver an engaging and informative tour on the vessel in front of the passengers.
    • Greet and interact with passengers in a friendly, courteous manner, with a smile, and bidding them farewell at the end of the cruise.
    • Provide directions to points of interest in the area, such as historical sites, restaurants, tourist attractions, transportation etc.
    • Take part in safety drills and work in cooperation with the captain and crew of the vessel.
    • Communicate clearly with other departments and personnel.
    • Additional job duties assigned.
    Requirements & Qualifications:
    • Ability to learn and memorize historical information, and to deliver an engaging "story-like" tour.
    • Ability to express history, facts, anecdotes in a clear and coherent delivery style.
    • Ability to stay on your feet for lengthy periods of time.
    • Performing or theatre experience preferred.
    • Strong customer service, organization, and interpersonal skills.
    • Maintain a high level of organization, detailed oriented and meet deadlines.
    • Handle multiple tasks/projects at one time.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships as required by job responsibility.
    • Listen effectively, assess the situation, determine relevant issues, & suggest solutions.
    • Have a working knowledge of computer skills, including but not limited to proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites.
    • Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information to coworkers and guests.
    • Maintain uniform and personal grooming in compliance with appearance standards.
    • Will be required to be available for work nights, weekends and on all major holidays.
