Lead Physical Security Systems TechnicianAtlanta, GA, USAJob DescriptionThe Lead Technician will be responsible for installation, termination and configuration, without direct supervision, of access control devices, such as: card readers, request to exits, electrified door hardware, access control panels, analog and IP cameras, camera servers (NVR), power supplies, cable pathways and various cables that include but are not limited to twisted pair, low voltage, and coax. They will be directly responsible for onsite tasking of Field Technicians and Installers to meet project milestones set by Project Managers and Field Supervisors. Installations are performed in both new construction and retrofit scenarios in a variety of environments.Essential FunctionsOnsite tasking of resources to meet project milestones established by the Project ManagerInstall various access control devices and electrified door hardwareInstall and connect access control panels, power supplies and control equipmentInstall and program various CCTV; analog and IP camerasInstall and program various types of NVR's and VMS platformsInstall cable and pathway systems to support security systemsWork in a team environment under project manager, leading a group of field techniciansMaintain installation deadlinesBe accountable for the daily time entries of all crew membersMaintain a high level of quality controlEnsure safety on the job sitePerform end-user trainingParticipate in project commissioning and testingAssist in the enforcement of standards related to final documentationAttend trades meetings at construction sites as neededMinimum QualificationsHold and retain certification in at least two VMS systemsHold and retain certification in at least two access control systemsHave a minimum one year of experience in basic configuration of physical security systemsHave attended training for at least one camera manufacturer and received certificateHold and retain the OSHA-10 certificateHave served as a Field Technician (or equal) for a minimum of two yearsMust pass pre-employment background check and drug testKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesAbility to effectively lead and plan work days for an installation crew of two to four workersDemonstrated proficiency in low voltage principles (ohm's law, load calculations, metering, etc.)Ability to effectively communicate with customer IT and Facilities staffAbility to effectively coordinate with other tradesDemonstrated proficiency in the installation, termination and configuration of IP camera technology, controller hardware, power supplies, door hardware and credential technologiesCompetency in the principles and concepts of physical security systems and ability to apply knowledge in the fieldPhysical DemandsThis position requires physical activity consistent with a construction or installation environment. The employee will spend more than two-thirds of their time standing, kneeling, crouching, stooping, using hands to handle or feel, and reaching with hands and arms. Approximately one-third of the time may be spent walking and engaging in verbal communication or listening. Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing between 25 and 50 pounds is required.Work EnvironmentThis role may involve travel to project sites and exposure to a variety of environmental conditions. These may include outdoor weather, proximity to forklifts or other heavy machinery, and the use of hand tools or hardware.
