The position of Chief of Operations is specialized for high availability mission critical environments, prioritizing electrical switching, 24/7 shift leadership, training of Operations staff, and general contractor oversight. The position is responsible for the reliability of the facility's critical power and cooling infrastructure, ensuring its readiness to support mission needs. A core requirement of this role is the oversight of electrical/mechanical switching operations and the management of a shift-based workforce capable of executing complex maneuvers under pressure without impacting the live load. Viable candidates are expected to have experience ranging from mission critical facilities, personnel management, 24/7 rotating shift schedules, facility maintenance, and operating SCADA systems, ESH principles, incident response, contractor management, and operational data evaluation. Experience should include exposure to large-scale commercial electrical and mechanical systems, including 12.4kV switchgear, generators, UPS systems, chillers, boilers, and pumping systems.
Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and six (6) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to ten (10) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors
Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner
