Job Description
As a Security Professional in Upper Marlboro, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more.
As a Screener in a logistics and distribution environment, you will monitor and patrol designated areas, helping to deter security-related incidents while maintaining a visible presence. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, interacting with staff and visitors, and providing outstanding customer service and communication. Job Schedule:
DayTime: Mon 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Tue 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Fri 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Sat 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM, Sun 03:00 PM - 11:00 PM
What You'll Do:
- Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
- Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
- Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
- Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
- Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise
Responsibilities:
- Carry out security-related screening procedures in accordance with site-specific policies and protocols.
- Provide customer service to individuals entering or exiting the logistics and distribution location, addressing questions and assisting as needed.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency response activities.
- Monitor and control access points to help to deter unauthorized entry and/or prohibited items from entering the location.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter to help to deter suspicious activity and/or security-related concerns.
- Document and report any irregularities, incidents, or security-related issues according to site procedures.
- Collaborate with site personnel and law enforcement as required to address security-related matters.
What We're Looking For:
- Availability across various days and shifts
- Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments
- A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company
- Interest in transitioning into full-time roles when available
Minimum Requirements:
- Maryland Security Professional Guard Card preferred.
- A valid Guard Card or license is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
