Forester – RPFUkiah, CAJob DescriptionJacobszoon & Associates, Inc. (J&A) is hiring a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) to join our ForestryTeam in Ukiah, CA. J&A RPFs work on a wide range of projects to meet natural resource managementobjectives for a diverse client base. The ideal candidate is an adaptable self-starter with strongcommunication and problem-solving skills who is willing to occasionally travel for work. The RPF isresponsible for all facets of contract administration and project management.Responsibilities• Develop and prepare Timber Harvest Plans (THPs), fuel reduction projects, Cal Fire Exemptions,and other CEQA documentation• Design and implement forest inventories and timberland appraisals• Administration of timber operations and fuel treatments• Supervision of forestry technicians• Forest/rural road assessment and monitoring• Growth and yield modeling and sustained yield planning• GIS analysis and mappingQualifications• Possession of a valid California RPF License• Valid CA Driver's License• Ability to work alone in remote and rugged terrain• Ability to safely operate 4WD pickup and ATV (ATV training provided if needed)• Skilled use of conventional forestry tools (compass, clinometer, cruising instruments, etc.)• Familiarity with the laws and principles guiding California forest and fuels management practices• Familiarity with North Coast species and ecology (familiarity with redwood forest silviculturedesired but not required)• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and ESRI GIS productsSalary & BenefitsSalary ranges from $88,000 to $116,290 depending on experience.
