Marine Systems Technician
At Freeman Boatworks, we build industry-leading high-performance catamaran fishing boats known for quality, innovation, and craftsmanship. We are looking for a Marine Systems Technician to support our 56 line with troubleshooting, rigging, warranty work, and customer support both in-house and in the field.
This role is ideal for someone with strong marine systems knowledge who enjoys problem solving, working hands-on, and supporting customers at a high level.
What We're Looking For
- Experience with marine electrical and mechanical systems
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
- Comfortable working independently and traveling as needed
- Professional communication skills with customers and vendors
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing and service environment
What You'll Be Doing
- Diagnose and repair marine systems on Freeman 56 models
- Support warranty and service-related repairs
- Troubleshoot and service:
- Diesel generators (Fischer Panda, Northern Lights, Onan preferred)
- Air conditioning systems
- Ice makers
- Chiller plates
- Water makers
- General 12V rigging systems
- Coordinate with vendors and technical support teams
- Document and report work performed
- Travel for field service and customer support as needed
- Assist with sea trials and boat handling when required
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Mercury V10/V12 outboards
- ABYC certification
- Marine electronics experience including MFDs, radars, and stereos
- Fiberglass and basic gelcoat repair experience
- Boat handling experience on vessels up to 60'
Travel Requirements
- Willingness to travel, sometimes on short notice
- Ability to travel for periods up to one week
- Valid passport or ability to obtain one
