    divh2Security Armed Campus Specialist/h2pProvide for the safety of all students, staff, and visitors and the security of all district and campus property and equipment. Assist the Director of Safety and Security in the development and implementation of procedures that will ensure the protection of all district personnel and property./ppEducation/Certification:/pulliHigh School Diploma or GED/liliLevel 3 Security License (Armed)/li/ulpSpecial Knowledge/Skills:/pulliGeneral knowledge of investigation, report writing, criminal laws, and District policies and procedures/liliAbility to record information clearly and accurately/liliAbility to follow verbal and written instructions/liliAbility to work effectively with youths and adults/liliAbility to communicate effectively (verbally)/liliFirearm proficient, and able to pass minimum standards assessed by Texas Department of Public Safety/li/ulpPreferred Experience:/pulliBackground in law enforcement or security related work experience/li/ulpMajor Responsibilities and Duties:/pulliPatrol routes walking (campus) or driving (patrol) within district buildings and grounds to prevent fires, theft, vandalism, narcotics use, and illegal entries./liliEnforce laws including federal and state statutes, and district rules and regulations./liliMaintain liaison with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies./liliInspect and secure doors, windows, and gates regularly./liliRespond and investigate any calls from campuses concerning security problems./liliAssume responsibility for the operation of the alarm systems in assigned district building(s)./liliNotify police, fire department, or other appropriate authority of any situation requiring immediate or prompt attention./liliPrepare complete incident reports and notify appropriate authorities./liliCoordinate with other administrators and law enforcement agencies in obtaining additional security help for special events or school activities./liliEnsure that all visitors are authorized to be on campus./liliAssist in traffic control and parking on the school campus./liliGive directions or act as a guide to authorized visitors./liliMonitor and rove as assigned./liliAssist with video monitor equipment at assigned building(s)./liliAssist campus with all emergency management responsibilities, including but not limited to campus safety plans, emergency maps, execution of drills, utilization of any software applications/liliAny other duties as assigned./li/ulpSupervisory Responsibilities: None/ppMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:/ppTools/Equipment Used: Mobile radios, alarm systems, fire extinguisher, security equipment, computer, FAX machine, basic first aid equipment, District Vehicle, standard office equipment, personal owned firearm/ppPosture/Motion: Prolonged sitting and standing, strenuous walking and climbing stairs; occasional keyboarding and use of mouse, moderate driving/ppLifting: Moderate lifting and carrying (1544 pounds)/ppEnvironment: Work inside and outside (moderate exposure to sun, heat, cold, and inclement weather); moderate exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; frequent district wide travel./ppMental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress; prolonged hours; Ability to read; Ability to communicate effectively (Verbal and Written); Ability to understand oral and written instructions; Ability to operate a motor vehicle; Occasional changing work schedule/ppOther: Specific hearing and visual requirements; may be subject to adverse and hazardous working conditions, including violent and armed confrontations; ability to control sudden violent or extreme physical acts of others and exhibit rapid mental and muscular coordination simultaneously/p/div
