The purpose of this position is to provide Clark County School District students safe crossing at designated streets.
Directs traffic across intersections. Guides school children across streets and assists crippled children andsmall children in making the crossing. Moves automobile traffic as expeditiously as possible to allow crossings. Notifies Police Department to report presence on duty. Reports unusual occurrences and accidents or suspicious vehicles or persons loitering in the area of schools.
High school diploma or equivalent. Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered. Must possess and maintain a valid Nevada or "border state" driver's license, as defined by NRS 483. Must pass a nationwide fingerprint-based record check, and a wants/warrants check.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of City traffic regulations.
Skill in problem solving, with regard for thinking fast in possibly chaotic situations.
Ability to move automobile traffic expeditiously, with due regard for the safety of pedestrians; get along with school children and the public.

Physical and Mental Requirements/Work Environment
General Physical Requirements Light work: Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to lift a minimum of 15 pounds unassisted.
Mental Activities Upholding ethical standards and practices. Making decisions that align with City's values and ethics. Avoiding distractions in a busy environment. Understanding technical information relevant to the job.
Physical Activities Must have good hearing and eyesight and use of all limbs; must be in average health.
Visual Acuity The worker is required to have visual acuity to pass a color vision test.
Working Conditions The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions including extreme heat and cold: No effective protection from weather. The worker is subject to hazards, such as moving vehicles, walking and working on slippery and uneven surfaces, and outside environmental noises.
