Summary
Under close supervision, performs various tasks related to the maintenance of City owned roads, facilities, beaches and all areas within the rights-of way, as assigned. Employees in this class are responsible for the performance of manual, unskilled work at the City owned and maintained properties. Supervision is received through superiors who give general direction as to job requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs tasks related to the maintenance of City owned roads, facilities, beaches, and all areas within he rights-of-way as assigned. Performs tasks involving physical labor at construction/maintenance sites. May operate hand and power tool of all types including but not limited to: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and a variety of other small equipment associated with the project. May smooth and level surfaces of poured concrete, such as walks, sidewalks, and/or curbs using a variety of hand tools.
