    The City of East Providence is seeking Traffic Control Personnel. These positions are seasonal and are not affiliated with a professional union. The City of East Providence will create a certified list of qualified candidates to fill per diem vacancies as needed. Thereby, employees are not guaranteed a minimum amount of work hours per week. All candidates must meet the minimum requirements as follows.Traffic Control Personnel must:* be at least 18 years of age.* possess a high school diploma or equivalent.* be able to work traffic control details as needed morning and afternoon.* complete training in safe traffic control practices and public contact techniques.* possess knowledge of job required guidelines included in the most recent edition and revisions to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.* obtain a certificate of satisfactory completion from a training course approved by the Department of Transportation (following an offer of employment).* complete, on an annual basis, a required in-service training program organized or authorized by the East Providence Police Department.* complete a background check and present a Criminal Background Check (BCI) (following an offer of employment).* never have been convicted of a felony crime, or a misdemeanor, unless the misdemeanor conviction is more than (3) years from the date of employment.* pass a physical exam, physical back screen and drug screen test (following an offer of employment).* remain drug free and be subject to random drug screen tests.Pay rate:* Traffic Control Personnel - $30/per hourApplication Process: A panel will select qualified candidates and coordinate interviews. Once the interview and selection process has been completed, the list will be certified by the Personnel Hearing Board and will be active for one year.Traffic ControlPage 2
