The Crime Analyst I/II is a flexibly staffed position that has an Individual Contributor role that provides crime data for decision making. Their role enables the Santa Maria Police Department to use crime data to anticipate community needs and provide high quality and efficient public safety services to residents.
Under general direction of assigned supervisor, collects, analyzes, and presents crime, offender, demographic, and related data used in allocating and deploying police department resources. Supervision is not normally a responsibility of this classification but may act as lead worker for temporarily assigned employees, or special projects.
