Authority: The individual will work under the supervision of the highest-ranking command officer or senior firefighter, ultimately reporting up to the Fire Chief. In the absence of a command officer, the individual will work in conjunction with other firefighters, or will assume command as the most senior firefighter. May assist to coordinate, instruct, or supervise the work of other firefighters, new recruits, or other department personnel, as assigned.
General Purpose: To protect life and property by performing firefighting, emergency medical services, hazardous materials, and fire prevention duties. Maintains fire equipment, apparatus, and facilities.
