    Job Description

We are GDIT - the people supporting and securing some of the most complex government, defense, and intelligence projects across the United States. The breadth of our portfolio and scale of our company ensures your access to new challenges and expanded roles as our business and mission-impact grows. We ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. Our work has meaning and impact on the world around us, but also on us, and that's important. We think. We act. We deliver. This team includes an exciting portfolio of programs comprised of building and supporting technical solutions to foster customer mission success - from service delivery to large-scale supply chains, mission support, cloud, AI/ML, cyber security, data analytics and more.

GDIT's Diplomacy, Enforcement & Space (DES) Business Area is seeking a highly experienced Strategic Technical Advisor to help shape strategy, drive operational excellence, and position GDIT as a trusted partner to NASA. As a Strategic Technical Advisor, you will strengthen delivery across our NASA portfolio, support business growth, and help expand GDIT's presence across NASA centers and mission areas. The ideal candidate brings deep knowledge of NASA missions, established relationships with key NASA decision makers, and relevant experience managing major programs. You will help anticipate emerging NASA needs, guide technical direction and solution development, and promote GDIT's capabilities to ensure we continue to grow and deliver mission success.

    Responsibilities
    • Develop, refine, and support execution of the NASA business strategy in alignment with customer priorities and GDIT's strategic objectives.
    • Build and maintain relationships with NASA stakeholders, including leadership within mission directorates, centers, and program offices.
    • Support capture and business development teams by shaping technical solutions, identifying growth opportunities, and positioning GDIT for upcoming procurements.
    • Advise on NASA trends, emerging technologies, policy changes, and strategic risks related to human spaceflight, science missions, aeronautics, and enterprise services.
    • Participate in customer meetings, industry events, and NASA working groups to increase GDIT's brand visibility and strategic influence.
    • Collaborate with operations, solution architects, engineering, and delivery teams to define innovative approaches that address NASA's mission challenges.
    • Evaluate competitor strategies, market conditions, and customer feedback to recommend strategic adjustments or investments.
    • Provide mentorship and trusted insight to senior leaders within the DES Business Area.
    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, business, or related field (master's degree preferred).
    • 15+ years of experience supporting NASA or major federal science/engineering agencies.
    • Proven success managing or advising on large, complex federal programs.
    • Established relationships within NASA leadership, program management, or technical communities.
    • Strong understanding of NASA missions, organizational structure, procurement processes, and enterprise service needs.
    • Experience with federal proposal process, delivery and execution.
    • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and strategic concepts to executive audiences.
    • Ability to travel to NASA centers and GDIT locations as needed.
    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience with NASA enterprise IT, mission support, engineering services, or human spaceflight programs.
    • Prior leadership in government contracting or federal program strategy.
    • Technical depth in aerospace, cybersecurity, digital modernization, data systems, or enterprise transformation.
    What GDIT Can Offer You
    • Entrepreneurial, flexible and dynamic environment with the ability to make a difference
    • 401K with company match
    • Diverse, collaborative teams of highly motivated critical thinkers and innovators
    • Challenging work that makes a real impact on the world around you
    • Internal mobility team dedicated to helping you own your career

The likely hourly rate for this position is between $102.00 - $138.00. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Our benefits package for all US-based employees includes a variety of medical plan options, some with Health Savings Accounts, dental plan options, a vision plan, and a 401(k) plan offering the ability to contribute both pre and post‑tax dollars up to the IRS annual limits and receive a company match. To encourage work/life balance, GDIT offers employees full flex work weeks where possible and a variety of paid time off plans, including vacation, sick and personal time, holidays, paid parental, military, bereavement and jury duty leave. GDIT typically provides new employees with 15 days of paid leave per calendar year to be used for vacations, personal business, and illness and an additional 10 paid holidays per year. Paid leave and paid holidays are prorated based on the employee's date of hire. The GDIT Paid Family Leave program provides a total of up to 160 hours of paid leave in a rolling 12 month period for eligible employees. To ensure our employees are able to protect their income, other offerings such as short and long‑term disability benefits, life, accidental death and dismemberment, personal accident, critical illness and business travel and accident insurance are provided or available. We regularly review our Total Rewards package to ensure our offerings are competitive and reflect what our employees have told us they value most.
