The Everforth ECS Team provides focused Agile software development and maintenance for CODIS, a mission-critical application for the FBI. CODIS supports a database repository of DNA profiles from individuals, unsolved crime scene evidence, and missing persons. CODIS software allows local, state, and national laboratories to compare DNA profiles electronically, thereby linking serial crimes to each other and identifying suspects by matching DNA profiles from crime scenes to individuals' profiles.

Act as liaison between the development team and client to articulate methods to implement business needs within cloud architecture

Develop and document requirements based on an expert understanding of the CODIS system and user requirements

Work with the Business Analysts, Developers and Test Engineers to decompose user stories that can be implemented in 2-week sprints

Continuously monitor and review requirements and backlogs, and provide recommendations or opportunities for improvements in clarity, consistency and accuracy

Provide mentorship and training to Business Analysts

Review user stories and bugs for development teams

Review and update documentation, as needed

    Required Skills

    Active Secret Clearance

At least 5 years of experience with CODIS, requirement management or documenting complex software applications.

Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to translate complex technical concepts into plain English

Strong working knowledge of CODIS functionality that meets the needs of the users, including knowledge of specimen entry, searching, matches, ranks and pedigrees

    Desired Skills

Experience in an Agile program - familiarity with SAFe, Scrum, and/or Kanban

Experience collaborating with customer representatives, program management, and quality managers to define and document requirements in small increments

Demonstrated multi-tasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service

Experience working with AWS services and cloud technologies

Knowledge of DevOps techniques and approaches to software development

Working knowledge of Microsoft Products including SharePoint and Microsoft Office Suite

Experience grooming detailed User Stories and establishing requirements for highly complex systems

Ability to recognize weaknesses in processes and find ways to improve
