    Dispatcher

    Apex Waste Solutions is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our operations team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing waste collection routes, ensuring efficient service delivery, and maintaining clear communication with drivers.

    Key Responsibilities:
    • Coordinate daily routing for waste collection trucks and drivers based on service areas, customer requests, and company schedules.
    • Monitor driver locations, routes, and workloads in real-time using GPS or dispatch software.
    • Adjust and reassign routes or vehicles as necessary to accommodate last-minute changes, emergencies, or delays.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact between drivers and the operations team.
    • Provide clear instructions and updates to drivers regarding routes, traffic conditions, and safety precautions.
    • Address customer inquiries and requests regarding pickup times or missed collections.
    • Communicate service issues, accidents, or delays to the appropriate departments and customers in a timely manner.
    • Maintain accurate logs of driver activities, routes, and service interruptions.
    • Document and report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns to management.
    • Track and report key metrics such as on-time performance, missed pickups, and fuel usage.
    • Ensure all drivers follow company safety protocols and adhere to traffic and environmental regulations.
    • Assist in planning routes to optimize fuel efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
    • Ensure that vehicles are appropriately staffed and equipped with necessary safety gear and tools.
    • Respond to customer complaints and inquiries in a timely, professional manner.
    • Coordinate with customer service teams to ensure all service requests are fulfilled and that customers are informed of any changes.
    • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure vehicles are serviced and ready for daily operations.
    Qualifications:
    • 1-3 years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or related field, preferably in waste management or transportation
    • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in dispatching software, GPS systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
    • Knowledge of local geography and traffic patterns
    • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
    • Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance in the waste management industry
    Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    Experience:
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle a high volume of customer interactions
    • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Proactive problem-solving mindset with a focus on safety and customer satisfaction
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems (experience with industry-specific software is a plus)
    Working Conditions:
    • Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 10am - 7pm, with possible on call for off hours service needs.

    • Frequent use of a computer, phone, and headset.
    Compensation & Benefits:
    • $18.00 - $20.00 Hourly
