    Dispatcher (HVAC Operations) - Onsite | San Marcos, CAAbout the Role

    We are hiring an experienced Dispatcher to serve as the central hub of a fast-growing residential HVAC operation in San Marcos, CA. In this onsite role, you'll manage daily field activity, coordinate a team of 13-20 technicians, and keep high-volume service operations running efficiently.

    This is a contract-to-hire opportunity offering immediate ownership, strong team collaboration, and a clear path to permanent placement for high performers.

    What You'll DoDispatch & Scheduling

    • Manage the live dispatch board and make real-time scheduling adjustments throughout the day

    • Route and assign 13-20 field technicians across South San Diego County, East County, and the Temecula/Murrieta corridor

    • Optimize schedules based on geography, traffic patterns, and service windows

    Field Coordination

    • Serve as the primary communication hub between technicians, a national call center, and internal leadership

    • Handle 45-60 short operational calls daily while maintaining scheduling accuracy and efficiency

    • Ensure continuous workflow and maximize technician productivity across the service territory

    Operational Excellence

    • Monitor field progress, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and escalate issues as needed

    • Adjust routes dynamically for cancellations, add-ons, delays, and priority service calls

    • Maintain accurate records within dispatch and field service management systems

    Communication & Problem-Solving

    • Provide clear, professional, and low-drama communication to all stakeholders

    • Make quick, effective decisions in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment

    • Ensure customer commitments and service windows are consistently met

    What You BringRequired Qualifications

    • 2-4+ years of dispatching experience in a high-volume environment

    • Proven ability to manage a live dispatch board with real-time adjustments

    • Strong route planning and optimization skills across high-traffic service areas

    • Experience coordinating across multiple teams (field staff, call centers, leadership)

    • Ability to manage 45-60 calls per day while balancing competing priorities

    • Excellent multitasking, organizational, and problem-solving skills

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in scheduling and system updates

    • Calm, professional demeanor under pressure

    • Self-starter with the ability to make decisions independently

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience in HVAC, plumbing, or home services industries

    • Experience in field service, logistics, or transportation dispatch

    • Experience with ServiceTitan or similar dispatch/field service software

    • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes

    • Experience working in a fast-growing or scaling operation

    Work Environment & Schedule

    • Onsite role based in San Marcos, CA

    • Fast-paced, high-volume environment with constant schedule changes

    • High-impact role with significant autonomy and minimal micromanagement

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Marcos, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.
