Junior Associate, Consultant (Federal Clients)

The role is fast‑paced, dynamic, and requires the ability to contribute to integrated solutions across multidisciplinary teams.Ideal candidates possess 1 to 4 years of relevant experience in a directly relevant business role, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience in homeland security, justice clients, grants, and/or program management is a plus.ResponsibilitiesWork on client projects – taking full ownership of tasks and workstreams that contribute to overall project goals and delivering high‑quality solutions.Document business processes, identify improvements, present solutions to clients, and implement solutions to achieve mission results.Analyze business problems using interviews, context, and quantitative data to identify improvements in processes, organizational structures, and technology for high‑priority client initiatives.Work closely with clients and teams to build on collective knowledge, speeding up the process of identifying innovative yet practical solutions.Create high‑quality work products and deliverables, including documents, presentations, and data dashboards that allow clients to make informed decisions.Take on new responsibilities and learn the mission/business while maintaining attention to detail and finding ways to exceed client expectations.Contribute to company service areas beyond project work, helping the firm grow by developing capabilities and contributing to new business.Support and strengthen company culture, promoting collaboration, learning, and helping others grow.Required Qualifications1 to 4 years of relevant experience or comparable analytical experience in a directly relevant business role.Clearance : Position is limited to U.S. citizens only; no employer sponsorship offered. Candidates must currently hold or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.Education : Bachelor's Degree (minimum) required.Experience in large, complex federal or nationwide programs, preferably with a focus on grants and program management.Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, including critical thinking, information seeking, and collaboration.Direct experience with clients and stakeholder engagement, delivering work products in a complex environment.Outstanding written and oral communication and collaboration skills; strong leadership potential.Ability to collaborate and work effectively both remotely and in‑person.Technologically savvy, especially with Microsoft products and collaboration tools such as SharePoint.Willingness to embrace ambiguity on large, complex projects and co‑create innovative solutions with the team and client.Familiarity with industry trends related to supporting federal government clients.Desire to learn business concepts, contribute to company events, and take on special projects.Ability to work in the Washington, DC metro area and travel to different locations as needed.Critical Skills : Executive presence, entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic, collaborative mindset, excellent problem‑solving skills, and interest in consulting.Preferred QualificationsStrong interest in homeland security and emergency management.Very strong interest in developing as a consultant to increase leadership ability, project management knowledge, and business concepts.Experience in grants management, program management, and/or performance management.Training in project management, data analysis, and consulting.Total RewardsSalary range: $62,000 – $70,000 .
